being caught这个问题我想提问者本来是知道的差不多的,不过下面两位答主反倒是比提问者还不懂了。其中的being确实可有可无,无非是含义上会有一点点区别罢了,也可以说没有区别。徐广联《大学英语语法讲座与测试》第五版提到:
9 G1 G( U% @* S! y: a1 ^9.作状语的分词短语前的连词
, |* r5 t0 V' |- Z" p0 k/ U/ T4 {分词短语作状语时,有时前面可用一个连词,表示强调,或出于表达需要,常用的连词有:when, while, after, before, if, though, whether... or, unless, as if等。例如:
2 Y, Z( T' w+ g4 ^6 C9 JAfter taking the medicine, she felt better. 吃过药后,她感到好些了。
) y8 E* M, u/ tWhether sleeping or waking, he was not at ease. 不管睡着还是醒着,他心都不安。

如果这些连词后的分词是being或含有being,则being常常省略。例如:+ s' v' L; v" p/ k2 M
