什么时候用not，什么时候用no？

经常说
no是形容词，后面不能接冠词(a, the...)
not是副词，后面有冠词

那为什么朗文的这个例句用了not而不是no呢？

We prefer not a/any in objects and complements when the sense is not

A whale is not a fish, (n o t A whale is no fish - the sense is not emphatic.)

  Q( v$ ^4 ]$ a4 g9 j- b% v& }  \用 no 也不算错的，只是意思不同，变得更强调，词典例句是正常语气说话，用不着这么强调
7 K1 n: `/ z/ O3 K如果是在跟人争论，对方非说这是 hyperbole，你说这根本不是 hyperbole，就可以用 no

因为这里不是在讲数量，而是单纯的否定。

1 u" Q: a1 w) A; @做个简单对比：
It was [a pleasure 可数] to meet you.  否定：It was not [a pleasure] ...
It is [hyperbole 不可数] to call it...       否定：It is not [hyperbole] ...

" R5 J, _+ G  u9 ^3 [如果真的要用 no hyperbole，可以说 there is no hyperbole in calling it... 注意这里用了there is

那为什么不能用no呢，
