That book is a bit advanced, but the content is correct.
, b; _, ~8 U- R4 m# J& BTraditionally due to should be restricted to adjectival use; hence, it should usually be followed with a to be verb. In that sense due means attributable. : Y% U g0 K- k- x( E+ U$ {; P

Although the language is changing and due to is widely used instead of because of, owing to, and caused by, I think it's easier to just avoid due to.
