Gu Hanyu Da Cidian: Classical-to-modern Chinese dictionary from 上海辞书出版社, known as both the 《古汉语大词典》 and the 《古代汉语大词典》。 (same contents, different cover) $29.95. We've put a LOT of work into cleaning this up (in fact it's the most we've ever spent on a dictionary data file conversion), but there are still a few limitations:

Our is from 上海辞书出版社 - it's known as both the 古汉语大词典 and the 古代汉语大词典 depending on the edition. So if you want to avoid redundancy you could consider getting the others and skipping that one. Then again, it's one of the best we've seen so it might be worth owning in print as well :)

; T. j0 U7 a1 YAlso in the pipeline are a 成语词典 (though it's a 多功能 rather than a super-comprehensive one, since that seems to be the thing people are more interested in), two very nice 学生词典s, two new bidirectional C-E ones (4th edition of Oxford Concise + the expanded Tuttles), and two other more general-purpose monolingual ones that we haven't said much of anything about yet. Plus the Practical Dictionary of Chinese Medicine by Wiseman + Feng and possibly another related database to go along with it, but those are primarily of interest to TCM practitioners.

+ c! a* Y+ R5 ?) l5 D2 l+ s4 O古代汉语大词典 data files should *finally* be arriving in our office next week, after a massive conversion effort that involved creating about 2000 images for custom characters that don't exist in any font / encoding standard and digging through various databases to find Unicode code points for about 5000 other characters that didn't exist in any font at the time the dictionary was made.1 X& e$ o$ H* z4 l( g
It'll still take a little while to get this all turned into a Pleco database (please don't ask how long), but the biggest portion of the effort is about to be done with at least.

(ironically enough, mikelove's wife is a second-generation Hungarian and agrees with you completely on that - pity there aren't really any Chinese-Hungarian dictionaries out there)
