    It may mean "million" here. 8 l" P: E3 w- b/ p' E. w

    & `7 [; I# O2 ~; s. M% w! ~Sometimes English speakers will say "Ok, I'll give you 5g for that car"; g meaning "grand", slang for 1,000; so 5G is 5,000 dollars.  But I wouldn't say it's common to say "5m perday" for "5 million per day". It's perfectly understandable when you have read the entire context, though.

    看了一下前后文,虽然数字很吓人,不过感觉5m a day就是说单日新增500w的意思。

    3 n, @5 l( t# ~- _3 m- W" i! HI must admit I was a bit surprised that such abbreviation could appear in a piece of writing that is supposed to be formal. The English language is deteriorating for sure, so is journalism nowadays. Everything is becoming fastfood-ish.

    ( p, R5 Z/ G: D# I! R/ ^; VBe that as it may, I would suggest that we as learners should stick to our ground and try our best o use formal and proper English; the least of that are spellings and punctuation marks. , Z/ K# l! P" B9 z7 z; V+ l+ z1 b
